Brooklyn Industries defined the look and feel of North Brooklyn in the 2000s—bold appliqués, iconic water towers, and a flock of pigeon motifs that became shorthand for “Brooklyn cool.” After a hiatus and under new ownership, they’re back to reclaim their place in the city’s creative landscape.
A resident since those early years, I was tapped to help launch their comeback at their original Williamsburg flagship. Asked to channel the unmistakable Brooklyn energy into a collection of shirts, bandanas, and patches that celebrates their industrial roots while reintroducing the brand to a new audience.
The design system for Brooklyn Industries’ relaunch was crafted to honor the brand’s Brooklyn roots, drawing inspiration from the borough’s iconic architecture, street art, and creative energy. Each graphic and apparel piece was designed to feel authentic and connected to the community, balancing bold visuals with a sense of heritage. The result is a cohesive collection that celebrates Brooklyn’s dynamic spirit while staying true to the brand’s mantra: “Live, Work & Create.”
