Smokeye Hill
In the untamed Southwest, Smokeye Hill, a whiskey company born from a small still on a cattle ranch during Prohibition, carries a legacy intertwined with the land from which it came. The whiskey itself, distilled from the native blue corn of the region and the mule teams that carried the barrels to their widespread destinations. These elements became the heart of my design choices for their merchandise line. Hats, shirts, bandanas, and patches exude the essence of blue corn's significance, while chainstitch staff jackets pay homage to the indomitable mule teams that traversed rugged terrains carrying barrels of their prized whiskey. To ensure authenticity and fine quality, I collaborated with local artisans, masters of traditional skills, to breathe life into each piece. Drawing from the hues of blue corn, every bandana was meticulously hand-dyed, creating a collection of individual treasures. The shirts, thoughtfully printed using skilled techniques, possess a touch of gentle distress, embodying the spirit of mule-worn journeys while maintaining sturdiness. United by this cohesive narrative, the merchandise serves as a visual representation of Smokeye Hill's deep history. As these unique creations find their way to passionate wearers, they become a living testament to the enduring legacy of blue corn and mule teams, a celebration of the untamed spirit that defines Smokeye Hill.
