Hallowedding
When Jesse and Jolene asked for my help to create vintage Halloween wedding invitations, I was thrilled. I love exploring the transformation that takes place when traditionally creepy imagery becomes endearing and relatable. Held at a local music venue with Halloween/horror punk cover bands, it was crucial to infuse the lettering and illustrations with matching impish energy. Drawing inspiration from vintage Halloween postcard collections and old carnival show posters, the artwork and characters were created using a combination of traditional drawing techniques along with scanned textures and ever-so misaligned color layers. The outcome is a jovial haunted crew, celebrating together and embracing their best spooky lives.
